Daytrip to Odense
– In The Foot Steps of Hans Christian Andersen
On March 21, join the GKX Community for an exciting day in Odense, the hometown of the world-famous author Hans Christian Andersen.

Day Plan
Transport
We’ll meet in either Ikast Station or Aarhus Hovedbanegaard and travel together by bus.

A visit to H. C. Andersen’s House
Nowhere else in the world can you get this close to H.C. Andersen. You will see original objects, paper cuttings, and drawings by Denmark’s world-famous author.
A visit to H.C. Andersen’s Childhood Home
Step into the three small rooms that were home to H.C. Andersen and his parents from the time he was two years old until he left for Copenhagen at the age of 14.
Lunch & selfie-moments at Eventyrparken
Located just behind Odense Cathedral, we’ll grab a sandwich, and you’ll have a great selfie moment in front of the H.C. Andersen statue.
Own Time
Odense has a cozy pedestrian area where you can go shopping and explore the city. There is also the option to go hunting for H.C. Andersen wall paintings and sculptures – we’ll provide maps!

Transport
We'll return by bus to Aarhus and Ikast
Not joining? That’s completely fine! We’d still appreciate it if you could click the link and give us your feedback.
