House Rules
Shared GKX Apartments

Welcome to your home at the dormitory! To create a safe, comfortable, and respectful community, everyone must know and follow a few simple rules:

Be considerate of your roommates and neighbors. You live close together.
Avoid loud music, noise, or disruptive behavior between 10 PM and 8:00 AM.
For the safety and well-being of all residents, the use of candles or any form of open flame is not permitted on the premises.
Respect other people’s belongings – always ask before borrowing.
Respect your non-student neighbors living in the houses/apartments around you. Say hello to them when you meet them in the parking lot, etc.
Bicycles must be parked in the designated bicycle racks – not in front of apartments, hallways, or entrances.
Lock the doors when leaving the apartment and take care of shared property.
Report any damages or issues to the dormitory administration as soon as possible.
Parties must be cleared with GKX staff.
Hold a house meeting once per month to review adherence to the house rules. GKX staff may participate upon request.

Each resident is responsible for keeping their room and common areas clean.
Vacuum, empty the trash, and wipe down surfaces at least once a week.
Remove hair from the drain after showering and leave the toilet clean.
Always clean up after using the kitchen. Wash dishes, wipe down surfaces, and tidy up.
Dirty dishes, cups, pots, etc., must be put in the dishwasher immediately.
The dishwasher must be started when it is full and emptied when finished.
Laundry should be done regularly; wet clothes should not be left in the washing machine or common areas.
Shared spaces, such as the bathroom and kitchen, should always be left tidy for the next person to use.
The refrigerator must be checked for expired food at least every other week and cleaned at least once a month.

Store your food in your designated cupboard or labeled/agreed area in the fridge.
Take responsibility for your own food and only share if agreed upon.

Trash must be sorted correctly according to the dormitory’s waste sorting system.
Food waste, plastic, paper, glass, and general waste must be placed in the designated bins.
Full trash bags must be taken to the appropriate waste container outside. They should not pile up indoors or be placed outside the front door.
Bottles with a deposit (pant) should be placed in the designated return area or taken to a recycling station/shop.

Persons under 18 years old are only allowed to smoke with written parental permission.
Smoking indoors, including in rooms, hallways, and common areas, is strictly prohibited.
Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas.
Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly in ashtrays. Not on the ground.

Persons under 18 years old are not legally allowed to purchase strong alcohol in stores in Denmark.
No alcohol consumption is allowed in the dormitory, regardless of age.
Possession or distribution of alcohol to underage residents is strictly prohibited.
Any violation of this rule will have consequences and may lead to parental involvement and further action.

The possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
Any involvement with illicit substances will be taken seriously and may result in immediate consequences, including parental notification and potential legal action.
Suspicion of drug use or possession will lead to parental involvement and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Visits are allowed by agreement with your roommates. Always inform them in advance.
Overnight guests are allowed in your own room for stays of one to two days. Longer stays must be approved by GKX.
You are responsible for your guests at all times. They must follow the house rules, and you will be held accountable for any noise or damages they may cause.

If conflicts arise, talk to each other and try to find a solution.
If the issue cannot be resolved internally, contact the GKX-team and we will help mediate.

We all contribute to a safe and positive living environment by following these rules.
