Everyone who lives and studies/works in Denmark is obliged to regristrate a bank account as employers and in particular the state can transfer money for e.g. salary, excess tax, SU, housing benefit and other transfer income..

The account is called NemKonto (Easy Account, red.) and can be a foreign account, if you do not have access to a Danish Bank account. It is not mandatory to have a Danish account, but often easier, however it can be complicated for a minor to registrate a bank account in Denmark.
