INFORMATION ABOUT:

GKX Support Program

At Global KnowleX, we make the journey to studying in Denmark simple and worry-free. From the first idea of studying abroad to application, relocation, and settling in – we guide and support students and parents every step of the way.

We aim to provide the care and support parents would normally offer when their teens are moving out but is hard to do from a distance. We provide practical and personal assistance, ensuring both students and parents have a dedicated and experienced contact person i Denmark throughout the stay.

10 Reasons Studying in Denmark with GKX is a Good Investment

1. GKX Student Maturity & Admission Check

Through a short online test (including a video) and a personal interview, we assess each student’s academic skills and personal maturity to ensure they are prepared to study independently in Denmark.

2. School Guidance

We give personal advice on choosing the right school based on elective preferences and future study plans, including application support and school follow-up.

3. Preparation Activities

Starting in April, regular newsletters are sent with information and preparation guides.

In June, we host an online orientation with explanations about how the Danish school system works. It’s also a great opportunity to meet fellow students and get answers to all the questions you may have. The webinar is targeted both students and parents.

4. Onboarding Meeting in August

On Thursday, August 6, 2026 (before school start) students and parents are invited to a two-hour orientation in Herning to learn about student life, meet peers, and receive practical tips for building networks and navigating in the Danish society.

5. Practical Assistance for EU Residence and MitID

On August 7, 2026, we visit the EU residence office in Aarhus (SIRI) to provide in-person support with residence permits. In the following days/weeks, we help the student register their Danish ID (CPR), digital ID, and essential apps for healthcare, transport, phone, and banking. All apps important to get created as soon as possible for a smooth life in Denmark

6. Monthly Follow-up

Students are invited to regular social gatherings and personal check-ins (online or in person) with the support team. Assistance is provided with important matters such as official letters in online systems, practical tasks like buying a bike, and off course booking appointments with a general practitioner and other healthcare arrangements.

7. Student Network Activities

Students get invited to social events with peers from other schools, for instance a two-day weekend camp in early Autumn and some excursions during the year.

8. Parent and Student Support

Parents receive regular newsletters with updates on student life, cultural adaptation, and key information. Also, parents can always contact the support team directly with questions, worries or if your teenager need special support in any way.

9. 24/7 Emergency Number

The service no one hopes to need, but essential when something goes wrong. Our support teams is available around the clock to support students and parents in case of emergencies.

10. Goodiebag

Each student receives a goodie bag including a sleeping bag, a Danish SIM card, a GKX T-shirt or hoodie, plus surprises throughout the year.

And then one extra:

11. National Partner Cooperation

We are pleased to work closely with national partners in Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, and Portugal. Through the GKX Supportive Network Program, families receive personalized guidance and local support via our trusted partners.

They help students assess if Denmark is the right choice, advise on academic readiness, personal maturity, and pre-arrival steps, and assist with validating school documents. Ongoing support is also provided for students and parents throughout the study period in Denmark.

We always recommend to work with our local partners as they know the national challenges and benefits – and offer support and advice in your native language.
